There are a lot of options available to anyone looking for a compact SUV. Two of those options, the 2021 Honda CR-V and the 2022 Hyundai Tucson, are certainly near the top of the segment. There's a lot to like about both models, but as with any two vehicles, there are still significant differences between each. The Honda CR-V has one of the most powerful engines in the segment. It is powered by a 1.5 L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. This is more powerful than what you find in the Tucson which comes standard with a 2.5 L 4-cylinder which delivers 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.
There's a lot more space in the 2021 Honda CR-V
The 2021 Honda CR-V offers 2,146 L of total cargo space and 1,110 L of cargo space when the rear seats are folded up. This is a considerable amount of space, and although the 2022 Hyundai Tucson has gotten more spacious, it's still trails the CR-V by roughly 100 L with the rear seats up or down.
There is more safety in the 2021 Honda CR-V
Honda doesn't make you pay more for safety. You will get features such as adaptive cruise control and road departure mitigation, all at no extra cost. These features are available on the 2022 Tucson, but they are not standard.
