2020 Honda Accord vs 2020 Mazda6

2020 Honda Accord vs 2020 Mazda6

The 2020 Honda Accord is back on the market this year without much change, but it doesn’t matter because the Honda mid-size sedan already has everything for mid-size sedan buyers. The new Accord offers plenty of interior space, plenty of cargo space and powerful turbo engines that are also very fuel-efficient. It's really hard not to fall in love with the new Accord.

Its balance of performance and comfort is what sets it apart from its competition like the 2020 Mazda6. The Mazda6 is known for its agile handling, but the Mazda6 does not have the comfort, space or efficiency of the Accord. At least that's what the experts say.

The Honda Accord is powered by a standard 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbo engine that produces 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque. This high-performance engine offers a little more power than the Mazda6's standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The latter, with 187 horsepower and 186 lb.-ft. of torque, reaches 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds while the 2020 Honda Accord reaches 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.

It's not a huge difference, it's true. That said, the Honda Accord also offers an average fuel consumption rating of only 7.9 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway, which is a good deal less than the Mazda6, which averages 9.1 liters per 100 kilometers in the city and 6.7 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway.

The Honda Accord is overall more fuel-efficient than the Mazda6 while offering similar performance. It is also more spacious with 473 liters of cargo space versus 416 liters for the 2020 Mazda6. The rear seats are also more spacious in the Accord.
