Honda SUVs Earn Top Spot in Brand Loyalty

Read moreThe SUV market is a crowded one, but Honda has carved out a niche of their own with the popular CR-V model. Over two decades ago the company took their leading Civic platform and added an SUV body design over the tried and tested mechanics.
The result is a mid-range compact SUV that combines ruggedness with comfort and impressive fuel economy.
The original Honda CR-V has been redesigned and refined over the years, and here's what to expect from the 2019 release.
All versions of the Honda CR-V for sale in 2019 come with full all-wheel drive, while the entry-level LX trim also offers front-wheel drive as a lower-cost option.
Each trim is equipped as standard with continuously variable automatic transmission, powered by a 1.5L, 16 valve, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine with direct fuel injection.
As a compact crossover SUV, the CV-R's fuel economy is relatively strong despite the engine's 190 horsepower rating. You can expect 8.70 L/100 km for city driving and 7.20 L/100 km on the highway.
And just like other members of the Honda fleet, the CV-R offers outstanding reliability, thanks to its underlying Civic mechanics.
The CR-V is well equipped with safety features, making it a solid choice as a family SUV. Highlights include:
As you'd expect from a modern SUV design, a smooth ride is guaranteed, delivered by the following advanced features:
Despite its compact nature, the CR-V isn't short of interior space. It can seat up to five adults comfortably, or with the rear seats folded down, it delivers a full 75 cubic feet of storage space.
It's also well equipped with interior features to keep your journey relaxed and comfortable. Both front bucket seats are heated for colder days, to back up the HVAC system which includes under-seat and console ducts.
For driving in warmer conditions, the cabin features dual-zone air conditioning and a powered panoramic moonroof.
In-car entertainment includes touchscreen multimedia with a 7-inch display, audio system with speed-sensitive volume control, and dual LCD monitors. There is also full Apple and Android smartphone connectivity over Bluetooth.
The question is, are Honda CR-Vs good SUVs compared to the rest of the 2019 competition? If you want extreme off-road performance, a larger and less family-friendly utility vehicle might be a better option.
But if you want the comfort and fuel economy of a regular family car, but with the extra space, flexibility, and ruggedness of a compact SUV, then the 2019 Honda CR-V is a great choice.
